Arsenal are being linked with a move for Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho. According to Fichajes, they have ‘set their sights’ on landing the Portugal international. However, fellow top flight clubs Newcastle United and Leicester City have also been mentioned as potential suitors, as have Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Edu promoted

Edu Gasper has been promoted to the role of Sporting Director, as announced by the official club website. The Brazilian has been working as Technical Director since July 2019. Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham has said: “We are delighted that Edu is recommitting his future to the Club that he so clearly loves, after making such a positive and critical contribution to our progress in his time with us so far.

“Edu’s promotion formalises his already growing influence over our Academy operations, and we look forward to Per and Edu working together to strengthen the integration between our men’s first-team and Academy yet further.”

Teenager on radar

Arsenal are reportedly interested in promising Toulouse youngster Farès Chaïbi. The Algerian midfielder, who is 19-years-old, has burst onto the scene in Ligue 1 and his side could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line.
