Arsenal defender Cedric Soares is reportedly in discussions with Fulham over a potential switch. The full-back has seen his game time at the Emirates Stadium dry up this season.

According to a report by CalcioMercato, he is ‘talks’ with the Cottagers ahead of the January transfer window. However, Marco Silva’s side aren’t the only team being credited with an interest, with European pair Bayer Leverkusen and Villarreal also mentioned as potential suitors.

Arsenal swooped to sign Cedric back in 2020 on an initial loan deal from fellow Premier League side Southampton to add some more cover and competition to their defensive department. Prior to his move to the Gunners, he had a similar temporary stint away from the Saints in Italy with Inter Milan.

The Portugal international made his move to London permanent after a few months and has made a total of 59 appearances in all competitions for the club. However, he has only played twice in the league this term and a departure could help him get more game time.

Fulham have adapted well to life back in the top flight following their promotion from the Championship and may see Cedric as someone to add more experience into their ranks ahead of the second-half of the campaign. Silva’s men sit 9th in the table.
