Mikel Arteta’s continuous rotation of his first choice goalkeeper has divided opinion with a number of supporters in recent months. In Arsenal’s most recent 1-0 triumph over Brentford, the Spaniard once again rotated his starting goalkeeper with Aaron Ramsdale returning to the line-up for the first time in eight league matches, as David Raya was unable to face his parent club.

The Gunners are currently top of the table and boast the best defensive record in the division despite the rotation between the posts, as the influence of players such as Declan Rice in midfield and William Saliba in defence continues to prove pivotal.

However, it appears to be an inevitability for Arsenal to face interest for Ramsdale given his lack of action this term, particularly due to the quality of his performances last season where he was awarded a place in the PFA Team of the Season.

Ramsdale looked cagey at times during the Brentford clash and was nearly at fault for a goal in the first half. This is perhaps a result of his lack of match sharpness and many pundits such as Gary Neville have claimed this period of uncertainty will have knocked his confidence.

A number of teams are believed to be closely monitoring the England goalkeeper, who previously admitted that he is concerned about his lack of first team football as he bids to be the first choice starter for his country at Euro 2024 in Germany.

In an earlier interview with The Mirror, the ex-Sheffield United man said: “I need to get back into my club team to keep getting picked (for England) and keep giving the manager a headache because if I'm not, then that's an easier decision for him.”

Reports from Football.London claim that Arsenal have snubbed an approach from an unnamed bottom half Premier League club who showed interest in signing the goalkeeper, while the Mirror claim that Wolves are one of the teams monitoring the Ramsdale situation closely.

It remains to be seen whether Wolves were the club that made the approach for Ramsdale, but reports claim that Gary O’Neil is a huge admirer of the goalkeeper who could emerge as a successor for Jose Sa if he ever was to leave Molineux. Wolves are not alone in their interest in Ramsdale and other notable contenders for his signature appear to be London rivals Chelsea and German champions Bayern Munich, according to Mail Sport.

Chelsea have struggled with goalkeepers in recent seasons after the departures of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy in the summer and Robert Sanchez is currently the man in between the sticks after his summer arrival from Brighton.

Bayern are believed to be eyeing up a replacement for long-term goalkeeper Manuel Neuer who is approaching the twilight years of his career in the game at 37. The move would also offer Ramsdale a chance to impress in the Champions League as he is still currently waiting for his debut in the competition for Arsenal.
