Arsenal Premier League rivals 'plotting' swoop for £21m-rated star who 'is no longer happy' at Emirates
After Arsenal opted to make David Raya’s contract at the Emirates permanent, the future looks uncertain for Aaron Ramsdale. The once undisputed starter for the Gunners has slipped drastically down the pecking order, making just 11 appearances overall throughout the entire 2023/24 season.
Raya completed his full-time switch to Arsenal last month after the club paid £27 million to Brentford on top of his initial £3 million loan fee. The Spanish shot-stopper is now in line to be Mikel Arteta’s number one option between the sticks moving forwards, but that casts a shadow of doubt on Ramsdale.

The site’s transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Ramsdale is ‘looking to move on’ as he is ‘no longer happy’ to be a second string option behind Raya.
The interest from Wolves comes amid speculation over José Sá’s future. The 31-year-old has been linked with a move away from Molineux this summer and according to transfer roundup from talkSPORT, the West Midlands side are willing to listen to offers for Sá is they manage to sign one of their main goalkeeper targets this summer.
Ramsdale is among the key targets shortlisted by Wolves, along with compatriot Sam Johnstone, but they face competition for both players from the likes of Nottingham Forest and newly promoted Southampton. If Wolves manage to get their hands on either of the England stars, they will entertain offers for Sá.
Their eagerness to bring in Ramsdale could work out in Arsenal’s favour too. The Gunners are said to be keen on signing Wolves No.2 goalkeeper Dan Bentley to replace Ramsdale in order to help with their homegrown player quota.

The Football Insider report claims that Arteta is in ‘no rush’ to see the back of the 26-year-old, as he wants to keep ‘two top goalkeepers’ at the club heading into another Premier League title-challenging season.
Arsenal will reportedly demand a ‘huge’ fee for the sale of Ramsdale, who is currently valued at €25 million (£21m) by Transfermarkt, with two years left on his contract.
