Arsenal have made a new offer for the Real Madrid forward Rodrygo after the 23-year-old's club rejected offers from Gunners' rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.

It's no secret that Mikel Arteta is seeking to bolster his attacking options this summer with reports lingering over the club's intentions to sign the likes of Napoli's Victor Osimhen; Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and previous links to Brentford's Ivan Toney. The search for new forwards was also bolstered by the suggestion that England's Eddie Nketiah is marked for and Emirates-exit this summer, thus leaving just the option of Gabriel Jesus up top.

At the start of the year, it was suggested by pundits that Arsenal could not win the Premier League with their current attacking options and as they currently sit second, two points behind league leaders Liverpool, and with an upcoming quarter-final Champions League clash against Bayern Munich to consider, the Emirates' board will already be assessing how they can improve upon this campaign when the 2024/25 season comes around.

According to Football 365, Brazilian forward Rodrgyo is now the latest on the Emirates hit list and the Spanish publication Nacional has reported that the ex-Santos winger has a 'new offer' to leave the Bernabeu from Arsenal.

Real Madrid's president Florentino Perez is reportedly ‘totally willing to sit down and negotiate’ Rodrgyo's sale ‘if a good offer arrives. with Arsenal looking to sign ‘one or more’ offensive players in the next transfer window. However, Rodrgyo will not come easily and the Gunners are supposedly 'fully aware that recruiting Rodrgyo won't exactly be cheap' and Perez has 'no intention of accepting offers lower than' €90 million this summer.

Arsenal's pursuit of the Brazilian international will also be made harder by the fact that the winger is 'determined to continue his career' at Real Madrid despite the arrival of Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe this summer. The 23-year-old has already received 'tempting proposals' from Manchester City, PSG, Manchester United and Liverpoool, according to Fichajes, but as yet none seem to have offered enough for the Los Blancos star to be convinced to leave the Spanish capital.

Rodrygo began his career with the Brazilian side Santos before heading to Real Madrid in 2019 for a fee reportedly around €45m. He started with the Bernabeu's B side before joining with the first team in September 2019 and he has since made 138 League appearances for the club, scoring 25 goals in La Liga. 2019 was also the first year Rodrygo was called up to the senior Brazil squad and he has since secured 22 international caps, scoring five times for his country.

It was announced in November 2023, that the winger had signed a contract extension which should see him remain in Madrid until June 2028.
