Arsenal have reportedly already made an offer in their pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana. It is still three months until the next summer transfer window opens but the Gunners have much competition hot on their tails with Manchester United another club reportedly already having sent over their offer too.

The Belgian midfielder has impressed at Goodison Park this season and has been on the radar of several clubs around Europe. Not only have the Gunners and Red Devils showed their intentions, but the 22-year-old has also attracted the attention of La Liga giants Barcelona following his on-pitch displays this 2023/24 season.

Mikel Arteta's side will need to make a big midfield signing this summer as it was revealed that not only are both Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny both out of contract this summer, but Thomas Partey has been linked with a move away from the Emirates.

The Gunners have long since been linked with a move for the Senegalese-born defensive midfielder but FFP regulations prohibited the Emirates side from making any move for him in the last window. However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, the Toffees have already received offers from both Arteta and Erik ten Hag's Manchester United.

The report out of Spain also indicates that the Camp Nou club would be willing to offer £34.2 million (€40m) for the sensation but the Belgian international is holding out for the full £51m which would prove too much for Xavi's Barca.

Having come from Lille in 2022, the Everton star has made a huge impact on the English shores, with this season arguably being his break-out campaign. According to PremierLeague.com, the 6"5' presence has registered a top speed this season of 36.65kmph (22.8mph). This is faster than any Arsenal player this season and is 5mph slower than Usain Bolt's registered top speed of 27.78mph.

William Saliba is the Gunners' fastest man with a top speed of 21mph with Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka next on the list - none of them near Onana's pace.

While it still several months before any official confirmation can be agreed, the Gunners appear to be winning the race in acquiring the 22-year-old's signature ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
