Arsenal linked with £25m ex-Premier League striker as latest Man City target emerges on radar

It may be on first thoughts a tough transfer window for Arsenal this summer without Champions League football to swell the budget and help attract players.

But plenty of teams have shown the capability to work the transfer market well without elite tier football.Just look at the success of Leicester City in the last few years and even contemplate Arsenal’s window last year when the north London side advanced, without the carrot of European club competition.

Manager Mikel Arteta’s search for a striker continues, with Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus the top target to reinforce the attack.

But beyond that, there are several other intriguing transfer links that have caught our eye as the Gunners are reported to also be in for one of Europe’s most outstanding prospects too.

Here’s a round-up of the latest Arsenal transfer reports:

Arsenal interested in re-signing former winger Serge Gnabry according to Bild, but the north London side cannot afford the forward this summer as it stands, and may have to wait a year.

Meanwhile, the Sun suggest that Arsenal have joined the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign Chelsea as being keen on Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni and will be ready to make a move - if his heavily rumoured transfer to Real Madrid does not materialise.

French outlet Foot Mercato suggest Gunners winger Nicolas Pepe will be offered to PSG, as time runs out for the big-money signing at the Emirates. Elsewhere, the Mirror claim that Arsenal are in for 22-year-old Mali international Cheick Doucoure.

Over in Italy, Fiorentina are hoping to haggle the price down for loanee Lucas Torreira, as the Serie A side will not pay the current suggested fee - according to the Evening Stanard.

Tuttosport, meanwhile, contend that Arsenal are eyeing up a £25m move for ex-Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata. he’s currently at Juventus, on loan from Atletico Madrid.

To round things off, the Daily Mail report that the Gunners have taken a shine to Man City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, and could look to snap him up this summer. He’ll be in action for Ukraine next week, in their all-important World Cup 2022 semi-final play-off against Ukraine.
