Arsenal fans will already be looking forward to next season after a much-improved campaign.

The Gunners will be back in Europe next season after a fifth-place finish this term, and that represents a significant improvement.

Mikel Arteta won’t be content, though, especially after missing out on the top four, and further improvements are needed.

That will require new faces, and Arsenal will be desperate to add a number of new signings to ensure they are prepared for a return to Europe.

With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours.

Nketiah deal

Transfers in may be important for Arsenal, but it’s also important they keep key men.

And Eddie Nketiah has become one of those, scoring five in his last eight Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

The striker is out of contract at the end of June, and it was reported he could leave in a bid to secure more regular football.

But fresh reports claim he is close to penning a new contract, and The Guardian say it could well be a ‘long-term deal’.

Aarons price

Arsenal need more cover at right-back, and one man they are being tipped to move for is Norwich City star Max Aarons.

According to TEAMtalk, Norwich are now preparing to sell Aarons, and a fee of around £20million could do it.

That could make things easy for the Gunners, as they look to expand their depth at the back.

Saliba talks

Marseille chief Pablo Longoria says he will hold talks with Arsenal over the possible signing of William Saliba in the coming weeks.

Saliba spent this season out on loan with Marseille, missing just two league games, and it’s no surprise the French club want to keep him.

“We had a lot of conversations about analysing William Saliba’s season, especially in the last few days,” Longoria told RMC Sport, as cited by the Evening Standard. “He is coming off an extraordinary season, with one of the highest number of matches played in Europe.

“He also joined the France team, which is incredible at his age. We discussed a lot internally about what we can do, to find out what the possibilities are.

“We respect his club, we have to thank Arsenal. Arsenal are a friendly club that helped us a lot during the last transfer window, we have very good relations.

“We have to talk to each other, see if there is the possibility of reaching an agreement between the clubs, there is the player’s will, the club’s will. But above all, we must respect Arsenal.”
