Arsenal are now gearing up for a tough-looking clash with Brighton as they look to maintain their Premier League title bid.

Manchester City look like they are going to wrap up top spot this season, but the Gunners can maintain hope if they continue to take care of business, starting with Brighton this weekend. Mikel Arteta’s men passed a big test against Newcastle United last weekend, and whether they come out on top or not, this season will have offered valuable experience in handling pressure.

As preparations for Brighton continue, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Rice latest

The Mirror’s John Cross is tipping West Ham star Declan Rice to be an Arsenal player next summer.

“Listen I think Arsenal are the favourites in the race,” he told Sky Sports’ Back Pages Podcast. “I think more than likely he will end up being an Arsenal player. I think Arsenal put in a lot of groundwork as clubs do in the summer, and they have overtaken rivals that have shown an interest in the past.

“I think they find themselves in pole position for Rice. Arsenal want to build on this season, and midfield is the area they’re looking for. Rice is their number one target.”

Bayer Leverkusen are said to be eyeing a move for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.

According to Sport1, Arsenal could be willing to offload Xhaka this summer as long as they find a replacement this summer. It’s claimed Leverkusen are ‘currently working’ on the signing of Xhaka, hoping to strike a deal before the summer window officially opens.

The Swiss international has played a big role this season, but it’s no secret the Gunners are looking to strengthen their midfield, so Xhaka could be sacrificed as Mikel Arteta continues to improve his squad.
