Defender targeted

Real Sociedad defender Robin Le Normand has emerged on the ‘radar’ of Arsenal ahead of the next transfer window, as per a report by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo. The Gunners could see the La Liga star as a potential upgrade for Rob Holding at the back.

Le Normand, who is 26-years-old, has been with his current club since 2016 and has become a key player, making 171 appearances in all competitions to date. Prior to his move to Spain, he rose up through the youth ranks of French club Brest.

Striker latest

Arsenal have been linked with Aston Villa hotshot Ollie Watkins over recent times. The former Exeter City man has been in decent form for Unai Emery’s side over recent times and is proving his worth in the top flight.

Reporter Fabrizio Romano has cooled his chances of a switch to the Emirates Stadium though and has told CaughtOffside: “I’ve had Arsenal fans asking me about the reports on Ollie Watkins – I can say that I’m not aware of anything advanced at this stage with any club.

“He’s doing excellent and he’s only focused on Villa. I’m sure he’s capable of making the step up to one of the so-called ‘big six’, but we also have to respect Villa as the project is ambitious and Unai Emery is there to help them grow.”
