Arsenal are now just days away from getting back to Premier League action following the World Cup break.

The Gunners went into the break sitting pretty at the top of the table, five points clear of Manchester City, and for two days, at least, they have the chance to move eight points clear with a win over West Ham United on Boxing Day, Mikel Arteta’s men did stay busy during the break, playing friendlies and heading to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp, but nothing compares to competitive action.

West Ham will prove a stern test, but in the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Martinelli interest

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be chasing a deal to sign Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli.

According to SPORT, PSG are hoping to strike a deal for the winger, but they face an uphill battle. Martinelli is said to be happy at Arsenal, and it’s claimed he has already agreed a new long-term contract with the club. However, before he actually puts pen-to-paper, it’s claimed PSG are hoping to muscle in to steal the Brazilian.

Even with all that, it seems Arsenal can be confident of keeping hold of their star winger.

Mac Allister claim

Arsenal are said to be interested in a deal to sign Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister was excellent for Argentina during the World Cup, and he is now attracting plenty of interest ahead of the January window. According to the Mirror, Arsenal are one of a number of clubs to express an interest, with La Liga giants AC Milan also said to be eyeing a move.

The 23-year-old is currently under contract until 2023, but Brighton are said to have the option to extend that deal by a further year.
