Arsenal expected XI against Liverpool: BIG Martinelli call to be made at the Emirates

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hoping for a fourth straight win at the Emirates tonight.

Arsenal will welcome title-chasing Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium tonight, with both sides fighting for different ambitions.

For Arsenal, a return to Champions League football next season is within touching distance if they can hold their nerve and continue their recent fine form in the league.

The Gunners have won their last five league games and impressively have scored two or more goals in four of those games.

Manager Mikel Arteta has quietened the noise around the team and brought in players who he can trust, the results of those decisions are beginning to bear fruit.

The biggest test however is Jurgen Klopp’s men who come to London knowing that a win narrows in on league leaders Manchester City, who could only pick a point  at Selhurst Park against Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Liverpool have momentum and they will look to make ground on City, knowing that both sides will meet at the Etihad later on in the season to decide the title.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool come into tonight’s game on the back of impressive victories, with Liverpool seeing off the challenge of Brighton with a brave Luis Diaz header and a late Mohamed Salah penalty.

Arteta does not have fresh injury concerns, but he will have to be careful with the returning Takehiro Tomiyasu who has battled calf injury in the last two two months.

Emile Smith Rowe also played 15 minutes against Leicester, so it will be interesting to see what system and which players make the first eleven  in a game that certainly has the ingredients to define the season.
