Arsenal sent fresh Dusan Vlahovic transfer message as player sets wage demands

All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they prepare to take on Wolves.

Arsenal return to action on Saturday when they face strugglers Wolves in the West Midlands. The Gunners saw off Dinamo Zagreb during the week, but Premier League consistency is at the top of their wishlist as they look to make up ground on leaders Liverpool.

Though, a close second is a new attacker, with Mikel Arteta and his recruitment staff still searching for an addition. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Vlahovic message

Arsenal have been told Dusan Vlahovic could be the perfect option, with the Juventus forward having been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

TNT Sports pundit Owen Hargreaves said: "Juventus have just signed [Randal Kolo] Muani," he said. "You would think maybe Vlahovic could be an option?"He could be perfect for them, with his profile."

Jorginho deadlock

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is said to be holding out for a specific wage amid interest from his home country. Jorginho can be signed for free on a pre-contract agreement as things stand, with his contract set to expire in the summer, while Arsenal are yet to offer a new deal.

According to Globo, Flamengo have offered Jorginho a three-year deal worth €10 million in all, but the player is said to be holding out for €13 million. Flamengo are said to be hesitant to pay that fee, meaning there is a deadlock of sorts between the two parties at this stage.

Arteta on striker search

Arteta has provided another update on Arsenal’s big to sign a striker this month. He said during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Wolves clash: “My opinion is clear - we lost two very important players in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, so we lack goals, people and options in the front line, it’s clear.

“If we can get the right player, that’s what we are actively looking at, but any player - no, we need someone that makes us better and makes an impact on the team, it’s clear that for the period that we have lost them ideally, we need some help because we were short already and we’re even shorter. The team has still coped with that but we have to do what is right for the club.”
