Arsenal are reportedly 'determined' to sign Everton star midfielder Amadou Onana in the upcoming transfer window. TeamTalk have argued that if the Gunners are successful in securing the Toffees's star man then they would likely have one of the best midfield set-ups in Europe.

Onana and Arsenal have been much talked of in recent weeks with the Gunners preparing to make their bid in the summer transfer season to acquire his services for the 2024/25 season.

Standing at 6'5" tall, Onana has a huge physical presence on the pitch and has acted as a 'warrior' for the Goodison Park club in midfield. He is known for his aggressive ball-winning skills and is constantly ready to battle.

At 22 years old, Onana is still yet to hit his peak but has already created a phenomenal reputation for himself as a player not afraid to use his physical attributes to collect the ball off attackers with his longer legs, making him one of the league's top-quality tacklers.

For Arsenal, the Senegalese-born Belgian's technique would be invaluable to their set-pieces. This season in the Premier League, Mikel Arteta's squad have had the second-most corners (188) and have secured the most goals from set-pieces this season (24). Adding a figure such as the rising star of Onana to the corner and free-kick routines would offer the Gunners a huge advantage of their opponents.

Born in Dakar, Onana began his football career with 1899 Hoffenheim II before moving to Hamburger SV and Lille. He signed with Everton in 2022 on a five-year contract for a reported £33 million including add-ons and now the Toffees have placed a £80m price tag on him.

Having featured in four youth levels of the Belgian squad, Onana made his senior debut for Belgium in the UEFA Nations League in 2022. He has a total of nine international caps and played in two Fifa World Cup matches in Qatar.
