Arsenal are looking to bolster their attack this summer following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s January departure to Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could both leave at the end of the sesason with their contracts set to expire.

One attacking option Arsenal are reportedly looking at is Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.

According to journalist Eduardio Inda, the Gunners have already approached Asensio.

He claims that the attacking midfielder has had an offer from both Arsenal and Liverpool and will leave Real Madrid for free when his contract expires in 2023 if neither club snap him up this summer.

Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Sport have revealed that Los Blancos could be willing to sell Asensio for as little as £42 million to avoid losing him for free next year.

The 26-year-old joined the La Liga giants from Mallorca eight years ago but has failed to reach his potential at the Santiago Bernabeu.

While he has become an important player for Carlo Ancelotti this season, he could be tempted by a move to the Premier League with the two clubs reportedly preparing to offer him 50 per cent more than Real Madrid.

He could also find himself down the pecking order if he remains in Spain, with Real Madrid eyeing summer moves for both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

While the £42 million could prove to be a bargain for Arsenal, Asensio probably isn’t what they need.

Aubameyang is yet to be replaced up front and Asensio would also be up against the likes of Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka, who have all impressed this season.
