Instead, it will be the Europa League for the Gunners next season, and they will need to add to their squad to cope with the increased demand.

After a season without European football, Arteta will need greater depth heading into next season, while also adding quality in certain areas.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest rumours.

Arteta had said he and the club will address the Frenchman’s future after the season, amid the striker’s expiring contract.

But it has now been confirmed that the forward will leave after five years, with his contract officially expiring on June 30.

Morata opens up

Alvaro Morata was reported to be close to a move to Arsenal earlier this summer, as he prepares to end his Juventus loan spell.

And the striker has now given an update on his future, making it pretty clear that no deal is close just yet.

“I have quite a few options. It’s not up to me, I can’t do anything about it,” Morata said after scoring for Spain on Thursday night.

“My wife and children will follow me wherever I need to go. I do have preferences and options, but I want to go where the club love me the most and value me.”

Scamacca bid

Arsenal are said to have made a bid for Sassuolo frontman Gianluca Scamacca.

It’s no secret Arsenal want a striker this summer, and according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Gunners have made a £35million bid.

Scamacca has scored 16 goals in 39 league appearances since 2017, though he has been out on four loan spells during that time, still only 23 years of age.
