"We deserved more" - £30 million Arsenal star left frustrated after Chelsea draw
Arsenal were unable to come away from Stamford Bridge with all three points on Sunday, as they drew 1-1 with Chelsea. They failed to find a winning goal which would have handed Mikel Arteta’s side their first Premier League victory since the 3-1 win against Southampton at the start of October.
The Gunners took the lead after 60 minutes through Gabriel Martinelli, who put the ball into the net following a Martin Odegaard cross. It was the first game that the Norwegian has played since he suffered an injury during the October international break.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was left frustrated after the game, he said in an interview: “I think we deserved more,I think we showed really good character, especially from the start of the game, going for that win. We created the chances. The character of the team to come to a difficult place, especially with the form that Chelsea are in, and showing what we showed is really important and remarkable from the players.
“Of course, we are going to be disappointed, but sometimes when you cannot win the games, make sure you don’t lose it and that’s what happened today. I think even when we conceded the goal we went for the win, we tried to push ourselves to score.”
Arsenal’s title chances dented amid recent form
The Gunners’ title hopes have taken a hit recently as they have dropped points in four consecutive Premier League games - meaning they are now nine points behind Liverpool who won 2-0 against Aston Villa last weekend. Arne Slot’s team have lost just one game so far this season and don’t look like faltering any time soon.

It’s too long to think ahead and stuff like that so make sure we’re still in the present and that’s it, just go game-by-game.”
The Gunners now have the international break to try and come up with a plan to turn things around, however, it won’t be easy as they host Nottingham Forest on Saturday 23 November who sit on 19 points, the same tally as Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton.
Arsenal aren’t the only title hopeful in poor form
The Gunners are sharing their current poor spell of form with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who have lost four games in a row across all competitions - a career first for Guardiola.
They fell 2-1 to high-flying Brighton which has now put City five points off league leaders Liverpool and led many to question whether it may be Liverpool’s year amid City and Arsenal’s recent struggles.
