According to talkSPORT, the Brazilian midfielder is now a priority for the Gunners as they look to add to the middle of the park on deadline day.

Luiz could well be on the move, yet to agree a new deal with Villa and now in the final year of his contract.

There is said to be plenty of interest, and Arsenal are one of the clubs expected to open talks on deadline day.

Tielemans latest

Arsenal are likely to pursue other options over Youri Tielemans due to Leicester City’s asking price.

“We know that they have had Tielemans on the list for a long time but they never wanted to pay £35 or £40 million for a player who’s out of contract in a few months,” Romano told GiveMe Sport.

“Let’s see if they will go for some cheaper options on the market.”

Maitland-Niles latest

Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks to be on his way out.

The midfielder is available for loan and is not expected to play a part under Arteta this season.

A number of Premier League clubs are said to have enquired, but according to Hampshire Live, Southampton are closing in on a deal.
