Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award after he oversaw Arsenal claiming three consecutive wins in March.

The Gunners kicked off the month with a 4-0 thrashing of Everton before they recovered from being 2-0 down to winning 3-2 against Bournemouth days later, with Reiss Nelson netting a last-gasp screamer to keep them five points clear at the top of the table. The North London club went onto enjoy another hammering against Fulham, followed by a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace last time out.

While Arsenal were knocked out of the Europa League by Sporting Lisbon, they have enjoyed a brilliant month in the Premier League and currently sit eight points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the league. The Gunners are the most in-form team in the top flight over their last five matches, with Pep Guardiola’s side failing to beat Nottingham Forest last month.

Arteta already has five Manager of the Month awards to his name with four of them coming in Arsenal’s brilliant current campaign. The Spaniard last topped the nominations in January when they went unbeaten all month, claiming huge wins over Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as well as a 0-0 draw with Newcastle.

The Arsenal boss has been nominated alongside Pep Guardiola, Unai Emery and Roberto De Zerbi. Emery has led Aston Villa to two wins and a draw in March and is enjoying a successful return to the Premier League as he looks to recover from his poor stint at the Emirates Stadium.
