Arsenal and Chelsea are both interested in a move for Wolfsburg wonderkid David Odogu in the January transfer window, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

While no clubs have put forth a formal offer as of yet, their interest remains apparent. Odogu has had a breakout season for Die Wölfe this season, having made his way into the first-team - despite being just 17 years of age.

The Blues are always looking to snap up young talents from across the globe, as per Todd Boehly's transfer policy. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are keen to bolster their defensive options in January - while Odogu is certainly on the youthful side, he could prove to be an excellent signing for the future.

Despite being just 17, Odogu stands at 6ft 2 and plays with confidence - so far, he has scored a single goal for Wolfsburg, notching up a pair of assists along the way.

Who else interested in a move for Wolfsburg's David Odogu?

While Arsenal and Chelsea would appear to be the front-runners in the race to snap up David Odogu, they aren't the only ones in contention - Brentford and Leicester City are also thought to be interested.

While the Bees and the Foxes do not have the financial resources of Arsenal and Chelsea, nor do they have the pedigree, they may be able to offer him a greater share of playing time. It is very easy to get lost in the mix at Chelsea, given their enormous squad, while Arsenal currently have one of the world's best centre-backs in William Saliba.

As things stand, it is unclear as to how much this will factor into Odogu's final decision. He is enjoying a respectable amount of playing time for Wolfsburg, having played in eight Bundesliga games this season - so a lengthy spell on the bench is unlikely to pique his interest.
