The Gunners look set to complete their next bit of business this week by signing Spanish defender Alex Grimaldo from Benfica.
Mike Arteta has been looking to strengthen the left back position and the 26-year old will offer competition to Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares.

Alex Grimaldo is a 26-year old left back who currently plays his club football for Portuguese side Beifica.
The Spainiard, who has been capped at Under 21 level, has been at the 37 time Primeira Liga champions for six and a half seasons since signing from Barcelona in 2016.
The defender had been turning out for Barcelona B and had six months left on his contract when Benfica signed him for a fee of €1.5 million.
Since then, Grimaldo has gone on to make 249 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles and scored 19 goals.
He has won three Primeira Liga titles as well as the Taça de Portugal and Taça da Liga.
He was also named in the UEFA Europa League Team of the Tournament in 2018/19, a competition where Arsenal reached the final and Benfica were eliminated in the quarter-finals.
Although he was born in Valencia and was capped by Spain from Under 16 to Under 21 level, Grimaldo is eligible to represent Portugal having spent more than five years living in the country.

Alex Grimaldo FIFA 22 rating
Grimaldo has an overall rating of 82 in FIFA 22.
That is higher than Kieran Tierney’s 81, although the Scotland international has the potential to reach 87 compared to Grimaldo’s 85, and also considerably higher than the 73 rating of Nuno Tavares.
Grimaldo has a three star ‘skills moves’ ratings and his best stats include his stamina (90), sprint speed (87), acceleration (86) and balance (86).
