The spike in likely interest comes from the England Ladies, spearheaded by Dutch manager Sabrina Wiegman brought the end to a long 56-year trophy drought for England for winning the 2022 Euros.

In a tense and nervy final, England won the game in stoppage time thanks to a poachers finish from Chloe Kelly, after some pinball action in the box.

Ella Toone opened the scoring for England with a delicious lob in the second half, just 17 minutes later, Germany equalised with a deft touch from Lina Magull.

This sent the game to extra time, before Kelly scored from inside the six yard box in the 110th minute.

England have once again got one over on Germany, with a final win against Germany handing England their first major tournament at the 1966 World Cup.

It’s a campaign that has brought a nation together, with this tournament win inspiring the next generation of women footballers, with this just the start of the huge ascendancy of the women’s game.
