Harry Kane appears to have found a clever way to make a statement in support of the LGBTQ+ community, after he was prevented from wearing the OneLove armband during the World Cup.
The England captain, 29, from East London, was pictured sporting a £520,000 rainbow Rolex as he arrived in Doha on Monday ahead of England’s World Cup win over Iran.

Instagram account Insane Luxury Life posted a picture of Kane wearing the timepiece, which was previously worn by Stormzy at the Brit Awards in 2020.

Insane Luxury Life captioned the post: “The captain of England @harrykane wears a rare @rolex Daytona ‘Rainbow’ 116595RBOW in 18k rose gold, one of the most sought-after pieces on market.”
It comes after controversy surrounding FIFA, who have been long marred by criticism over their choice to host the World Cup in Qatar - a country that criminalises homosexuality.

German players protested by placing their hands over their mouths before their match against Japan to signal they had been silenced.
“We’re disappointed,” Kane said after the match. “We wanted to wear it, that decision was taken out of my hands. I turned up to the stadium with the armband that I wore and I was told I had to wear that.
“Look, it’s out of our control as players. I’m sure the FA and FIFA will continue those discussions, but most importantly, today we focused on the game and got a great result.

Kane is expected to return to action for England’s second World Cup game against the United States despite suffering an ankle knock in the opening match.
The England star thanked a Norfolk primary school this week after they named their school after him during the World Cup.
Howard Junior School, in King’s Lynn, has renamed itself the Harry Kane Junior School and promised to make the change permanent if England Wins the World Cup.

“We’ll do our best to ensure you make the name change permanent!”
