London weather: The capital's mini heatwave has officially ended


- London’s abnormal warm spell has come to an abrupt end after a weekend of sunshine.
- The outlook for this week is cloudy, frosty, with showers on the way.
- London will experience lows of 1°C this week.
Over the weekend, London experienced a ‘mini heatwave’ with highs of 18°C.
Unfortunately, it appears our weekend of sunshine has been brought to a screaming halt by mist and showers. This week is set to be mild and cloudy, with intermittent showers and frost.

Hide AdThe Met Office says, “Today will be relatively warm but on the cloudy side, with the odd spot of rain possible at times, mainly in the south. Probably be driest and brightest with some hazy sunny spells in the east. Temperatures will be above average but cooler than on Sunday. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
“Tuesday: Starting mainly dry but rather cloudy, with limited clearer spells allowing a slight grass frost in prone spots. It will become cloudier generally from the north later, with a little rain possible. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
“Early cloud and outbreaks of rain soon clearing southwards. Bright and breezy, with isolated showers, these mainly in the east. Markedly colder than of late, with temperatures widely below average. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
“Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: Remaining rather cold through this period, accentuated by the wind. A mixture of sunny spells and showers is expected, the showers most often affecting the east. Overnight frosts returning.”
