London weather: The capital will be as hot as Ibiza this weekend

Dig out those shades and sandals, it’s going to be as hot as Ibiza in London this weekend.

The sun will be shining, and temperatures will hit 18C in the capital on Saturday afternoon (8th March).

According to the BBC, Ibiza will also be 18C on Saturday - and it will have more cloud than the UK capital (win!)

Even better, there won’t be a drop of rain in sight over the weekend as Londoners enjoy the first of the springtime sun.

Some of our favourite places to soak up the sun in London include Hyde Park, Hampstead Heath, Sky Garden, and Southbank.

The Met Office says: “Friday: staying rather cloudy, with further outbreaks of showery rain, locally heavy and possibly thundery, moving north eastwards during the day. Some drier and brighter interludes. Staying rather mild. Maximum temperature 15C.

“Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Fine and dry with sunny spells on Saturday. Similar on Sunday, with perhaps some low cloud drifting in off the North Sea. Cloudier on Monday. Staying rather mild. Often breezy.”

Next week will be more of a mixed bag weather-wise, with some sunshine, some rain, and a variety of temperatures spanning from 1C to highs of 13C on Monday.
