Christmas is less than a week away, but what weather can locals expect across the festive period? Here's what is likely according to the Met Office's seven-day forecast.

While London had its first few flakes of snow at the start of the month, it doesn't look like the capital will have a white Christmas this year.

The Met Office's forecast for the next week, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, predicts the 2023 festive period will be mostly cloudy. 

Here's the meteorological service's latest forecast for the Christmas holidays.

Christmas Eve

Little ones hoping to see Santa and his reindeers delivering presents in London's sky may have a hard time due to the forecast cloudy weather. The capital is set to have grey clouds overcast much of the city's skies across the night before the big day along with strong winds of around 30mph.

Christmas Day

While many Londoners will no doubt be hoping to wake up to a blanket of snow covering the city, it doesn't look likely. Met Office's forecast for Christmas Day shows London locals can expect more cloudy weather with brief sunny spells in the late afternoon.

Boxing Day 

Clouds will line the capital's skies on Boxing Day. Those planning on hitting the shops for sales across the city may also want to wrap up as temperatures are set to stay around 10C throughout the day.
