But his wife and daughter were at home and rushed out to help the passengers emerging from the wreck.

Footage shows three people get out of the car after it hits the building, with one collapsing to the ground.

Emergency services were called to the dramatic scene on Sunday (30/7).

Police said the driver, 19, and another teenage passenger were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, a statement added.

Sukie said: “My wife and daughter were at home in kitchen and heard a smash – their first concern was the driver and passenger.

“I was on the way back from London when I got a phone call from my daughter saying someone had crashed into the garage. On the way home I was trying to picture what happened and the devastation that was caused.”

He continued: “I was aware no one was hurt but I was thinking about the damage the had been done to my garage and contents and having to clear it all up.

“People come down the road at speed and there’s a bend at the top of the road – if you add the conditions of rain, people lose control. It’s a 40mph dual carriageway. We’ve been trying to get the council involved and introduce speed calming measures – hopefully this will highlight it and they might take notice.”
