TfL this weekend February 2 to 4: Underground, Overground and Elizabeth line disruption

Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on Tube and rail services.

Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel.

Here is the full list of planned TfL service changes this weekend, February 2 to 4.

London Underground

Jubilee line

Saturday 3 and Sunday February 4

No service between Finchley Road and Stratford during Friday Night Tube

No service between Green Park and Stratford all day Saturday, including during Saturday Night Tube and all day Sunday

Use alternative Tube or rail services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will also run between Canning Town and North Greenwich, and between Canning Town and Stratford.

Central line

Sunday 4 until Thursday February 8

Trains will not stop at Queensway after 10pm each night

For travel to Queensway, use District or Circle line trains to Bayswater, the Central line to Notting Hill Gate or Lancaster Gate or local bus routes 70, 94 or 148. During Night Service hours, use bus routes 94, 148 or N207. 

Overground

Friday February 2

No southbound service from Willesden Junction to Shepherd's Bush until 6.15am.

Use local bus routes 220 or 228. The first through train from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will depart at 6.23am. This is due to Network Rail works.

Saturday February 3

No service between Surrey Quays and New Cross

For New Cross, use London Overground services to New Cross Gate, then walk or use local bus routes 53, 177 or 453. This is due to Network Rail bridge replacement works.

Saturday 3 and Sunday February 4

No service between Willesden Junction and Stratford (via West Hampstead)

Use Tube or rail services or local bus routes between Camden Road and Stratford. For Caledonian Road & Barnsbury, use bus route 274 to/from Camden Road, or walk to/from Highbury & Islington.

Rail replacement buses will run every 15 minutes between Willesden Junction and Camden Road. This is due to Network Rail bridge replacement works.

No service between Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction, including during Friday and Saturday Night services

Use local bus route 30 during daytime hours, or route N277 during Night Service hours. This is due to Network Rail bridge replacement works.

No service between Romford and Upminster

Use local bus routes 165, 248 or 370. 

Trains to/from Chingford will not call at Bethnal Green until after 11.30pm each night

Use alternative London Overground services to/from Enfield Town or Cheshunt. This is due to Network Rail works.

Sunday February 4

No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction

Rail replacement buses will run every 30 minutes. This is due to Network Rail works.

Elizabeth line

Saturday February 3

The last train from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Paddington (at 0.07) will terminate at Ealing Broadway

Saturday 3 and Sunday February 4

No service between Stratford and Shenfield

Use Tube or rail replacement bus services. Rail replacement buses will run between Romford and Stratford, and between Shenfield and Newbury Park (via Chadwell Heath).

Sunday February 4

No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7.45am

Until 5.30am, customers travelling between central London and Heathrow should use the Piccadilly line. Customers travelling between central London and Heathrow between 5.30am and 8am should use the Central line to Ealing Broadway to connect with Elizabeth line services. This is due to HS2 works at Old Oak Common station.

Reduced service between Paddington and Maidenhead, and also at Heathrow T4 from 7.45am

Acton Main Line, Hanwell, Heathrow Terminal 4, West Drayton, Langley, Slough, Burnham and Maidenhead will be served by two trains an hour. West Ealing will be served by four trains an hour. Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington will be served by six trains per hour. This is due to HS2 works at Old Oak Common station.

Buses and roads

Sunday February 4

The O2, North Greenwich

D-Block Europe will be in concert at the O2 from 6pm until 10pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Monday 5 until Saturday February 17

Piccadilly roadworks

Westminster City Council is carrying out work on the below dates to resurface the Piccadilly carriageway between Hyde Park Corner and Piccadilly Circus. Bus and traffic diversions will be in place during the works.

From Monday 5 until Tuesday February 6, eastbound closure from Hamilton Place to Brick Street

From Wednesday 7 until Thursday February 8, eastbound closure from Brick Street to Bolton Street

From Friday 9 until 5am on Saturday February 10, eastbound closure from Old Bond Street to Albany Courtyard

On Monday February 12, eastbound closure from Sackville Street to Piccadilly Circus

From Tuesday 13 to Wednesday February 14, westbound closure from Piccadilly Circus to St James's Street

From Thursday 15 until 5am on Saturday February 17, westbound closure from Bolton Street to Down Street

Hyde Park Corner 

From 10pm on Tuesday 6 until 10pm on Wednesday February 7, the eastbound slip road from Hyde Park Corner onto Piccadilly will be closed due to resurfacing works.

Until late-March 2024

A240 Kingston Road and Tolworth roundabout

Until late-March 2024, there will be an amended set of lane closures on Tolworth roundabout, and on the A240 Kingston Road between Tolworth roundabout and the junction with Jubilee Way. At times, there may be some local diversions in place. This is while works continue to deliver improvements to Tolworth roundabout.

From Sunday March 10, there will be a series of overnight closures to allow for resurfacing works. Delays are expected in the area during these times. Use alternative routes where possible, check before you travel and allow more time to complete your journey.

Until May 2024

Praed Street works

Until May 2024, works will be taking place on Praed Street. Praed Street will be narrowed to a single lane for traffic, under temporary traffic signal control. The footpath will be closed with a pedestrian diversion in place.
