Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on Tube and rail services.

Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel.

Here is the full list of planned TfL service changes this weekend, February 23 to 25.

Central line

TfL has apologised for the continued disruption on the Central line caused by an abnormally high number of motor failures across the fleet. Engineers are working around the clock to improve the situation as quickly as possible.

There is an enhanced bus provision at some affected stations in east London to give Central line customers better and more frequent connections to other lines.

An emergency Central line timetable is also being developed to make better use of the available trains and remove uneven gaps in service.

District line

Saturday 24 and Sunday February 25

No service between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway

For travel to/from Ealing Broadway, use the Elizabeth line. Rail replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury and Rayners Lane, calling at Acton Town and Ealing Common.

Piccadilly line

Saturday 24 and Sunday February 25

No service between Hammersmith and Heathrow/Uxbridge, including Friday and Saturday Night Tube

Use alternative Tube and rail services, or local or rail replacement buses. Customers travelling between central London and Heathrow should use Elizabeth line services.

Rail replacement buses will run direct between Hammersmith Bus Station and Heathrow Terminals 2&3, between Gunnersbury and Rayners Lane, and between Gunnersbury and Heathrow Terminals 2&3.  Night Tube customers should use Night Bus routes or 24-hour bus routes.

London Overground

Saturday 24 and Sunday February 25

No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction

Rail replacement buses will run every 30 minutes. This is due to Network Rail works.

No service between Highbury & Islington and New Cross/New Cross Gate, including Night Overground services on Friday and Saturday night

Use Tube, DLR or local bus services. Rail replacement buses will also run (except during Night Service hours) between Dalston Kingsland and New Cross Gate, but will not call at Shadwell, Wapping or Rotherhithe.

For Shadwell and Wapping, use bus D3 from Whitechapel. For Rotherhithe, use bus C10 or 381 from Canada Water or Bermondsey.

No service between Romford and Upminster

Use local bus routes 165, 248 or 370.

Trains to/from Chingford will not call at Bethnal Green

Use alternative London Overground services to/from Enfield Town or Cheshunt. This is due to Network Rail works.

Sunday February 25

No service between Kilburn High Road and Euston until 12pm and after 8.30pm

Use Tube services or local bus routes. This is due to Network Rail works.

Elizabeth line

Saturday 24 and Sunday February 25

No service between Stratford and Shenfield

Use Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run between Romford and Stratford, and between Shenfield and Newbury Park. This is due to Network Rail works.

DLR

Saturday 24 and Sunday February 25

No service between Canning Town and Beckton

Rail replacement buses will run.

London Trams

Thursday 22 and Friday February 23

No service between Reeves Corner and Sandilands

Use local bus routes or tram replacement buses. 

No service between Arena and Elmers End until 6.30am and after 7.45pm each day

Buses and roads

Friday February 23

Drumsheds, Tottenham Hale

From 6pm until 10.30pm, a concert will take place at Drumsheds. Large crowds and delays are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Saturday February 24

The O2, North Greenwich

From 6pm until 11pm, the O2 will be hosting Peter Kay Live. Large crowds and delays are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Saturday 24 and Sunday February 25

Buckingham Palace Road

From 6am on Saturday 24 until 8pm on Sunday February 25, there will be a southbound closure of Buckingham Palace Road between Eccleston Bridge and Elizabeth Bridge for a crane operation.

Saturday 24 until Monday February 26

Blackwall Tunnel southbound closure

From 0.01am on Saturday 24 until 5am on Monday February 26, Blackwall Tunnel will be closed to southbound traffic, through to the junction with Blackwall Lane.

During these times the tunnel will be open to northbound traffic, with sign-posted diversions in place.

Advice for drivers

To travel southbound, plan ahead, check before you travel, use alternative river crossings and allow more time for your journey. The Woolwich Ferry will run a service every 20 minutes between 8am and 7pm, but customers are advised they may need to queue before being able to board. The Congestion Charge zone will be in operation as normal.

Bus route 108

From 8pm on Friday 23 until approximately midnight on Sunday February 25, bus route 108 will not cross the river and instead will operate as two services either side of the river, terminating/starting at Canning Town and North Greenwich. During this time, you are advised to use the Jubilee line to cross the river. Auto refunds will be in place for customers using the Jubilee line to cross the river.

From approximately midnight on Sunday, northbound buses will return to their normal route. Southbound buses will be diverted via Tower Bridge until the tunnel is re-opened to southbound traffic at approximately 5am on Monday. 

Sunday February 25

Central London area

From 2.30am until 4.30pm the London Winter Run will be taking place in the central London area. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.

Wembley Stadium

Chelsea will be playing Liverpool in a football match at Wembley Stadium from 3pm. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Until Sunday February 25

Peckham Park Road, SE15

Until 6pm on Sunday February 25, Peckham Park Road will be closed to all southbound traffic from its junctions with Old Kent Road and Green Hundred Road. This is for electrical connection work.

Until Thursday March 14

Holloway Road resurfacing works

Until Thursday March 14, every night from 8pm until 5am the following morning, resurfacing works will be taking place between Holloway Road station and Highbury Corner. These works will be completed in phases and traffic diversions (excluding buses and emergency vehicles) will be in place.

Until Monday April 29

Tweedy Road, Bromley

From 5am on Monday February 19 until 5am on Monday April 29, all traffic travelling south eastwards on Tweedy Road will not be able to turn left into College Road, due to signal modernisation works.
