TfL this weekend August 18 to 20: Overground, Elizabeth line and DLR disruptions

Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on TfL services.

Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel this weekend.

Here is the full list of closures over the weekend, August 18 to 20.

London Overground

Friday 18 to Friday August 25

No service between Watford Junction and Willesden Junction

Use the Bakerloo line for services between Harrow & Wealdstone and Willesden Junction.

Use London North Western Railway services or bus route 720. Bus route 720 is a temporary route that will run throughout this line closure, running every 20 minutes between Watford Junction and Harrow-on-the-Hill (via Harrow & Wealdstone).

Sunday August 20

No service between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction

Use local bus routes. Please note that Southern services between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction will also not be running.

No southbound service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon after 11.15pm.

Use local bus or tram routes. The last train to Crystal Palace will depart from Highbury & Islington at 10.57pm, and the last train to West Croydon will depart from Highbury & Islington at 11.04pm.

No service between South Tottenham and Barking until 12.30pm.

Use alternative Tube services between Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central and between East Ham and Barking. Use local bus routes between South Tottenham and Walthamstow Queen’s Road. A rail replacement bus will run between Walthamstow Central (for Walthamstow Queen’s Road) and East Ham.

No service between Barking and Barking Riverside

Use local bus routes EL1, EL2 and EL3 for Barking Riverside. From 12.30pm, use platform 1 for trains going to Gospel Oak from Barking.

Sunday 20 to Thursday August 24

No service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 10.45pm each night

Use alternative Tube services. A rail replacement bus service will run between Hackney Downs and Chingford on Sunday, and from Monday to Thursday replacement buses will run between Liverpool Street and Chingford.

The last trains from Liverpool Street to Chingford will depart at 10.48pm, and from Chingford to Liverpool Street at 10.55pm.

Elizabeth line

Sunday August 20

No service between Gidea Park and Liverpool Street (westbound only) until 6.30am.

Use local bus routes or the replacement bus service.

DLR

Saturday 19 to Monday August 28

No service between Stratford International and Canning Town

Use the Jubilee line or local bus routes. For Stratford and Stratford International, use bus routes 97 or 108. For Stratford, Stratford High Street, Abbey Road, West Ham and Star Lane, use bus route 276. For Star Lane and Canning Town, use bus route 323.

Woolwich Ferry

Until Sunday September 3, the Woolwich Ferry is closed for essential dry dock works. Drivers are encouraged to use alternative river crossings at Dartford, Blackwall, and Rotherhithe.

Pedestrians should use the Woolwich Foot Tunnel or the DLR between King George V and Woolwich Arsenal.

Buses and roads

Friday August 18

The O2, North Greenwich

The O2 will be hosting The Weeknd in concert from 4pm until 11.30pm. There will be road closures in place on Engineers Way, South Way and Fulton Road from 2.15pm until approximately 0.45am. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August

Victoria Park

The All Points East Festival will be taking place in Victoria Park from 2pm until 11pm each day. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Friday 18 August to Monday September 4

Cherry Orchard Road, Croydon

From Friday August 18 until Monday September 4, Cherry Orchard Road will be closed in both directions at the junction with Cedar Road.

Saturday 19 August

Southwark Park/Central London area

A bike demonstration will be taking place in the central London area from 10am until 5pm, starting and finishing at Southwark Park. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

UK Black Pride will be taking place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from 12pm until 9pm. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Sunday 20 August

Burgess Park

The Carnival del Pueblo will be taking place in Burgess Park from 10am until 10pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.

Gunnersbury Park

The Gunnersbury Park Concert will be taking place in Gunnersbury Park from 2pm until 11.59pm. Popes Lane will be closed when the event ends. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Piccadilly area

From 8am until 5pm, there will be a road closure between Old Park Lane and Down Street for a crane operation.

From Saturday August 12

The north-west slip road from the A40 Westway to A3220 West Cross Route will be closed for repair works. This closure will be in place for up to 18 months. A short diversion will be in place via the A219 Wood Lane slip road.

There may be some disruption to traffic, including local buses, on all approaches to the junction at Wood Lane during this time. Please allow more time for your journey if you are travelling through the area.

Tooley Street

Until Saturday August 19, every Wednesday to Friday night from 9pm until 5am the following morning, the north-westerly bus lane will be closed between its junctions with Tanner Street and Fair Street.

Borough High Street

Until Thursday August 31, every Monday to Thursday night from 10am until 5am the following morning, Borough High Street will be closed northbound between its junctions with Borough High Street (western arm) and Duke Street Hill. It will also be closed southbound between its junctions with Duke Street Hill and St Thomas Street. Local access to London Bridge Street will be maintained.

Southwark Street

Until Thursday 31 August, every Monday to Thursday night from 10am until 5am the following morning, Southwark Street will be closed eastbound between its junctions with Southwark Bridge Road and Borough High Street. Local access will be maintained.

Piccadilly underpass

Until Monday December 18, closures on the Piccadilly underpass are in place for tunnel improvement works.
