Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on Tube and rail services.
Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel.

London Underground
Piccadilly line
Saturday August 31 until Sunday September 1
Planned works and closures on the Piccadilly line to prepare for new trains
During this time there will be no service between Wood Green and Cockfosters.
Customers travelling from central London to stations from Wood Green to Cockfosters, should use the Piccadilly line to connect with rail replacement buses at Wood Green.
If you are travelling to Arnos Grove or Bounds Green, you can also use Great Northern services to New Southgate to connect with rail replacement buses to adjacent stations. Instead of the Night Tube you can use Night Bus route N91.

Hide AdPiccadilly line services will not run between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge during this closure. You should use the Metropolitan line instead.
A normal service will resume on Monday September 2.
London Overground
Until Sunday September 1
No Southern services through Crystal Palace
During this time there will be major changes to Southern Railways services in the Crystal Palace area and some stations will have no train service. This is due to Network Rail engineering work.
Tickets will be accepted on TfL services, including London Overground and existing local bus routes. Please check for more information on the Southern website, and plan ahead.

Hide AdNo westbound service between Camden Road and Willesden Junction after 11.45pm
The 11.59pm and 0.15am services from Stratford will terminate at Camden Road. Use Tube or London Overground services or local bus routes. This is due to maintenance work.
Friday August 30
No southbound service between Willesden Junction and Shepherd's Bush until 6.15am
The 5.51am from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will start from Shepherd's Bush at 6am. The 6.08am from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will not run. Use local bus routes 220 or 228. The first through train from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will be at 6.23am. This is due to maintenance work.
Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1
No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction
Use alternative Tube and rail services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run between Canada Water and Clapham Junction. This is due to Victoria resignalling works.
No service between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction from 7pm on Saturday until 12pm on Sunday
Use local bus routes. Southern Railway services will run, but northbound trains will terminate at Shepherd's Bush after 8pm on Saturday. This is due to Network Rail maintenance work.
Sunday September 1

Hide AdNo service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace after 2.45pm
Use local bus routes between Anerley and Crystal Palace. Southern Railway services will not run. A reduced service will run between New Cross Gate and Sydenham all day. This is due to Network Rail track work.
Sunday 1 until Thursday September 5
No service between Hackney Downs and Chingford all day on Sunday, and after 10.45pm each night from Monday to Thursday
Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run between Hackney Downs and Chingford each day, but from Monday to Thursday, northbound replacement buses will start from Liverpool Street after midnight.
This is due to Network Rail bridge replacement and maintenance work.
Elizabeth line
Saturday August 31
The last train from Heathrow (0.07am) will terminate at Ealing Broadway
Sunday September 1
No service between Paddington and Heathrow Airport until 7am.
No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway from 7am until 7.45am.

Thursday August 29 until Sunday September 1
Lord's Cricket Ground
From 10.30am until 6pm each day, Lord's Cricket Ground will host a test match between England and Sri Lanka. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

From 12pm until 6pm, demonstrations are expected to take place across central London, and a march will take place from Islington to Sadler's Wells. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

From 3.30am until 4pm, road closures will be in place between Greenwich and Canary Wharf for The Big Half 2024 marathon event. The event will start at Greenwich Town Centre and finish at Canary Wharf, via Tower Bridge. Large crowds and delays are expected.

From 10.30am until 4pm, a religious event will take place from the Gurdwara Temple in Barking to the Gurdwara Temple in Goodmayes. Short traffic holds will be implemented for crowd movement across junctions. Large crowds and delays are expected.

From 11am until 5pm, a chariot procession will take place from the Sri Karpaga Vinayagar Temple in Walthamstow. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

A40 Westway
The A3220 West Cross Route from Holland Park roundabout to the Westway roundabout will be closed to northbound traffic.

Hide AdThe northbound on-slip from the A3220 West Cross Route to the A40 Westway and westbound off-slip from Westway roundabout to Wood Lane will also be closed. There will be no access to the A40 from the A3220 West Cross Route. The eastbound on and off-slip road and the A3220 southbound slips will remain open.
Signed diversion routes will be in place but local roads are expected to be extremely busy. Long delays to join the A40 Westway are likely. Use alternative routes such as A312 The Parkway or the A406 North Circular for connections with the A4.

Farringdon Road will be closed southbound between Ray Street Bridge and Charterhouse Street. This is due to essential Cadent Gas works.

Until Tuesday September 10, there will be a series of bus lane closures on the A23 Brixton Road at the junction with Atlantic Road. This is to install new pedestrian and cycling crossing facilities.
You will still be able to use Brixton Road in both directions, but there will be some changes to the road layout. Allow more time for your journey and check before you travel. If travelling locally, consider walking or cycling where possible.
