'Well deserved victory' for Elizabeth Line workers who secured new pay deal

Workers on the Elizabeth Line have been awarded an above-inflation pay rise, it has been announced today (August 28 2024).
The agreement, which covers the period from April 1 2024 to March 31 2025, delivers a range of improvements for National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) members across the stations and revenue grades.

Hide AdWorkers employed by the Elizabeth Line operating company, MTR Elizabeth Line (MTREL), will receive a one-year above-inflation pay award, a salary boost for low-paid workers, and an increase in the night shift allowance.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch welcomed the agreement, adding: “This is a well-deserved victory for our members, achieved through strong negotiation.
"The above inflation pay increase not only addresses the rising cost of living but also acknowledges the vital role our members play in keeping the transport network running smoothly and passengers safe."
Paul Parsons, Customer Experience Director for MTREL said, “Following productive talks with the RMT, we are pleased to have reached a pay offer that recognises and rewards the work our colleagues deliver day in and day out for the Elizabeth line.”
