RideLondon 2022: road closures, Classique route map and what is it?

The eagerly anticipated RideLondon will take place this weekend.

RideLondon 2022 will run over three days from Friday May 27 to Sunday May 28.

The first two days of the event will for the first time take place inn Essex where stage one and stage two of the RideLondon Classique, the UCI Women’s WorldTour road race will take place.

Day three will play host to the RideLondon-Essex 100; RideLondon-Essex 60; RideLondon-Essex 30; the RideLondon FreeCycle and finally stage three of the RideLondon Classique.

The race takes place in parts of Essex before moving into the centre of London.

The road closures will signifcantly impact travel and journey times so people are encouraged to check first.

What is RideLondon?

The event was founded the year after London hosted the Olympics in 2012.

Tens of thousands of cyclists, both professional and amateurs, all take part.

The event is organised by, London Marathon Events Ltd, the same organisation that coordinates the annual London Marathon.

Kingsway, A4200 - the road closes at 8am and reopens at 7:30pm
