According to the website: “During Network Rail's weekend engineering works between Clapham Junction and London Victoria, a problem has occurred with the installation of a new set of points.

“The set of points is located on the lines used by trains on the Southern ‘Metro’ network, as well as empty trains departing Stewarts Lane Depot in Battersea, where we store a number of our Southern and Gatwick Express trains overnight.

“Most of the engineering works have now concluded, but this particular fault still needs attention from specialist technicians. This means that some of these empty trains cannot leave the depot and access the wider network. Also, some passenger trains may need to run at reduced speeds or use alternative lines to travel through the area, leading to some delays.

“In addition to this, there has been a further points failure outside Clapham Junction station, blocking further lines in this area.

“All stations are now able to be served, but there will be a reduced service.”
