The international train service will be running an altered timetable on March 7 and 8.

Strikes in France on Tuesday, March 7, over plans to raise the pension age from 62 to 64 have caused disruption to Eurostar trains from London to Paris and beyond.

23 train services to and from London St Pancras International have been cancelled on Tuesday already, with Eurostar to operate a revised timetable on both 7 and 8 of March.

It is the sixth time this year that French unions have gone on strike over President Macron’s plans to change the age that citizens can retire.

A statement from Eurostar said: “There will be a general strike in France on 07 and 8 March, which could extend beyond these dates.

“It will involve disruption across multiple sectors, including national rail services and it will have an impact on the availability of some of our crew.”

It continued: “In addition, we’ve now been informed of reduced opening hours on the high-speed line we use in Northern France on both days.

“This means we’ve had to cancel additional trains and we’ll be running a revised timetable on March 7 and 8.”

A full list of trains that have been cancelled can be found here.

If your train does not feature on the above list then it should be travelling as planned on March 7 or 8.

An alert from the Foreign Office on the French strikes has warned travellers to “check the latest advice with operators before travelling, avoid demonstrations and follow the advice of local authorities”.

If your Eurostar train has been cancelled, you can exchange it for a different service in the same travel class for free, or alternatively cancel it and get an e-voucher that will be valid for 12 months.

You can also cancel your booking and request a full refund.
