The best and worst ways to travel around London, according to us
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
London is a city that never stands still - so why should you? Whether you’re gliding along the Thames, weaving through traffic on two wheels, or hopping between historic Tube stations, getting around the capital is all part of the adventure.
With so many transport options, navigating London can be as thrilling as the sights themselves.

Or maybe you fancy a scenic riverboat ride? Whatever your style, we’ve rounded up our favourite ways to travel through the city - because in London, the journey is just as exciting as the destination.
Ready to ride? Let’s go!
1. Disco Tuk Tuk

Name a more iconic way to get around London, than a pink feathered Tuk Tuk blasting disco music... Go on we’ll wait.
Is it practical? Not really. Is it safe? No comment. Does it slay? Absolutely.

The Lizzy Line is bright, fresh, and clean and it has 4G. If it also had fairy lights it would be number one.
3. Overground
It’s like the underground but there’s this thing called air. You can breathe and see where you’re going. Excellent. No notes.
4. Black Cab
Sleek, cool, and oh so London, there’s nothing quite seeing the Big Smoke from inside a black cab. Sure it might cost a fortune but you can’t put a price on style. And if you’re lucky sometimes you’ll get a PINK one!
5. Tube

We had a bit of a deliberation about this one. The Tube has many pros - it’s fast, it’s cheap, and it’s easy to navigate (once you get the hang of it.) But my gosh it’s grubby, hot, and packed.

There are few things better than gliding along the River Thames soaking up the sunshine and the sights. You can get hop-on-hop-off tickets so you can navigate the length of the city at your own pace.
7. Zip Car
I was today years old when I learned about the existence of Zip Cars. It’s like Uber but you drive yourself! Perfect for London petrolheads who can’t afford wheels (or pay the ULEZ.)
8. DLR
I love the DLR, probably because it was a big part of my geography GCSE. The DLR provides high-frequency links between the City and Docklands and if you sit at the front it feels like you’re on a rollercoaster.
9. E-bike

There’s something quite sweet about cycling around London. Zipping past the sights and iconic landmarks. The only thing is, it’s a bit treacherous, we’d only recommend this for the most confident cyclists.

In recent years London has become what tourist boards would call a ‘walking city’. On a lovely day when the sun is shining walking through the city is lovely but this is England and it rains - a lot.
11. Bus
We’re not the biggest fans of the buses here in London. We love to look at them, but being on them is sometimes tough. They are busy, slow, and get stuck in traffic. We’d much rather hop on the Tube.
Sorry not sorry, these things are scary - and annoying. It’s funny to zip around Hyde Park but on the roads, in central London. Na you’re alright, thanks.
