London weather: Capital braces for 39 hours of snowfall as cold snap continues into next week
Snow, ice and sub-zero nights are on the forecast as winter bites across London.
Many Londoners woke up to a crisp blanket of frost this morning, as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across parts of the capital.

Pavements glistened in the early light and car windscreens needed an extra scrape - a sign that winter is firmly settling in.
And the white stuff may only be just getting started. According to BBC Weather, London could see up to 39 consecutive hours of snowfall over the coming days, with wintry conditions expected to dominate much of the week.
Snow is forecast to begin at 7pm on Tuesday (6 January) and continue through to 10am on Thursday (8 January), based on the latest hourly predictions.
While flurries may arrive gradually on Tuesday evening, the bulk of the snowfall is expected on Wednesday, with forecasters predicting light snow and wind across Greater London.
Temperatures during the snowy spell are set to hover at or just above freezing, meaning some areas could see a slushy mix rather than a heavy accumulation.
However, conditions will feel increasingly bitter as the week progresses. Overnight temperatures are forecast to dip to -4C, raising the risk of icy patches forming on roads and pavements.
The outlook from Sunday to Tuesday points to a cold but largely dry spell. Londoners can expect crisp winter sunshine during the day, widespread frost overnight, and easing winds by Monday.
