An online tool with a map has been launched to help Londoners find their polling station ahead of the elections.

On May 2 voters will elect the mayor of London, as well as members of the London Assembly.

A new tool on the London Elects website enables voters to identify their polling station. It was created in conjunction with the Democracy Club.

Greater London returning officer Mary Harpley said: “In just 10 days, the people of London will go to the polls to determine a new Mayor and Assembly - but Londoners will only be able to vote at the specific polling station to which they have been allocated.

“This map will be an invaluable tool for voters wanting to find their allocated polling stations. So, go online, put in your postcode and see where you can have your say on May 2.”

To use the tool, Londoners put their postcodes into the Polling Station Finder search box and select their address. The Polling Station Finder will produce the address of the allocated station and show its proximity to their home on an interactive map. On May 2, Londoners can only vote at the assigned polling station, whose address is also available on their polling card.

For the first time, the mayor of London will be elected through the ‘first past the post’ method, and voters will need to be carrying accepted forms of ID at the polling stations.
