Mr Boff AM told Sky News: “I’ve been a loyal Tory for 50 years. "This trash about gender ideology is making our Conservative party look transphobic and homophobic.”

Boff continued: "This is not what the Conservative Party is about.

When asked whether he is still a Conservative, he said: "Of course I am".

He said he heckled Suella Braverman during her speech because she was talking "arrant nonsense about gender ideology, about wokeness and all the rest of it."

His comments came as Braverman said people were being “chased out of their jobs” for their beliefs on gender and that the party must challenge the “poison” of ideas like gender ideology and white privilege.
