The Kingston-upon-Thames man was arrested by police on March 20 last year after receiving a call from the family of the victim.
The 19-year-old refused to answer any questions during his police interview and was charged with the crimes on March 22.
Detective Constable Annabel Leslie-Miller said: “This has been an extremely challenging investigation but the successful outcome has only been possible thanks to the strength the girl and her family have shown throughout this process.
