Nathan Cole: Body found in Walthamstow canal believed to be that of missing Notting Hill man

The body of a man found in the canal in north London is believed to be that of missing Nathan Cole, police have said.

Emergency services were called at 8.18am on Friday morning to reports of an unresponsive man in the canal near Towpath Road, Edmonton.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Formal identification will take place in due course, but officers believe the man is 32-year-old Nathan Cole.

Nathan, had last been seen in Banbury Road, Walthamstow, near the Banbury Reservoir on January 21.

It is believed he had been planning to attend a gig in Camden but that he did not end up going.

His family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers

Police await the results of the specialist post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Police enquiries remain ongoing.

Anyone who may have any information or was in the area on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22 are urged to call police on 101 quoting 1508/17FEB.
