Londoners have gone to the polls today (May 2) to elect the next mayor of London and members of the London Assembly.
A total of 13 candidates are running for the top job at City Hall, including Sadiq Khan who is hoping to secure a third term as the Labour mayor.
The London Assembly is there to hold the mayor to account, and it’s made up of 25 members, 14 of whom represent constituencies, and 11 represent all of London.
Today Londoners will be given three ballot papers, which include one to vote for the mayor of London, one for their local constituency Assembly members and a third one for a London wide Assembly member.
Polls are open till 10pm on Thursday with the election count taking place on Saturday May 4.
In the usual tradition many voters have taken their dogs along to their local polling stations.
