London Hot Air Balloon Regatta 2023 cancelled due to weather conditions

The Lord Mayor’s Hot Balloon Regatta has been cancelled this weekend due to weather conditions.

The event which involves up to 50 vibrant hot-air balloons taking over central London was due to take place on Sunday July 2.

However it has regrettably been cancelled due to “wind speeds and direction that go beyond safe limits.”

The standby date events on May 14 and 21 were also cancelled due to weather conditions.

The last time the event took place was in 2019. The 2020 event was cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic, while the following 2021 and 2022 events didn’t go ahead due to bad weather conditions.

The regatta is organised by aerial marketing company Exclusive Ballooning, who have helped run the event since 2015.

Organisers said they are hoping to have some alternative flight dates for later on this year.
