Many events are held globally, to commemorate the day and empower women.

Here’s a rundown of some of the events happening in London celebrating International Women’s Day 2022.

Women of the World

Women of the World is a three-day festival held at the famous Southbank Centre in London.

The festival celebrates the power and potential of women globally, and confronts the main causes of inequality.

The event begins on Friday, March 11 and ends on Sunday, March 13.

You can undergo speed mentoring, and hear stories from women around the world.

There are a wide variety of events for you to attend and while some will be admission free, the more popular showpieces will require a ticket and some have sold out already.

International Women’s Day Networking Lunch

This event is being held at King’s College, London and is aimed at women making connections within industries and celebrating their successes.

London St Pancras - Opera Hall

The busy station, one of the most infamous in the UK, is transforming into a stage of new train-themed micro-operas by female composers.

This is happening for just one day only, Tuesday, March 8.

It is estimated that approximately 149,000 people pass through London St Pancras per day, so this is a great way to promote female composers.

The event is titled ‘Lost and Found’ and will run from 11am and 4pm.

Westminster Walking Tour

This event will begin at the Agatha Christie memorial on Cranbourn street, and will cover the memorials of women around the city, ranging in different periods in history.

On this tour you will visit the memorials of women who have contributed to Literature, Nursing, Royal History, Politics, Campaigners, Women in War Time and at each stop, your tour guide will explain the significance of the women.
