Hackney: Author Sophie Heawood issues appeal to help find missing mother Vanessa

Author Sophie Heawood has joined an appeal to find a young mother from east London who has gone missing.

The writer of bestselling memoir The Hungover Games said the woman, named Vanessa, has not been seen since she vanished near Richmond Road in Hackney at around 11am on Saturday September 23.

Vanessa was reportedly wearing a dark top and leggings before her sudden disappearance.

It is understood that Vanessa returned home from Manchester at 10am on Saturday morning.

She then changed clothes and left the house an hour later, captured by a doorbell video camera.

Vanessa was carrying a pink and white water bottle and the last confirmed sighting was on St Philip’s Road in E8.

Friends said she had been struggling recently with mental health issues.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.

Ms Heawood wrote on social media site X: “A friend of friends, a mother, has gone missing from London Fields, Hackney.

“Missing person Vanessa has been missing since 11am Sat September 23. Last seen in vicinity of Richmond Road where she lives, in dark top and leggings. Please contact police with any info at all.”
