Anxious pups are being offered free noise-cancelling earmuffs to protect them from the scary bangs and explosions of Bonfire Night this year.

Ahead of fireworks lighting up London’s skies this weekend, Skoda is giving away free ear protectors and chew toys to dog walkers and their nervous pooches.

The giveaway will take place on Saturday, November 5, from 10am near hound hotspot Brockwell Park, on Dulwich Road, in Brixton, south London.

A 34ft mural - advertising one of the car brand’s new vehicles - has been unveiled alongside the giveaway, aimed at easing the most distressing evening of the year for pooches.

And the project is being run in collaboration with local pet shop, Ayla’s Pet Store, to give away a mix of different dog toys to calm and comfort pets this weekend.

“This is a great way to acknowledge the impact fireworks have on dogs that people may not have thought about before.”

However, there are only a limited number of goodies, so dog owners will need to move fast.
