Two men have been charged with the murder of a mourner stabbed to death at a vigil for another knife killing victim.

Reece Young, 23, was fatally knifed at the event in Croydon, last March, in memory of 19-year-old music student Tai O’Donnell who had been murdered nearby just days earlier.

A manhunt was launched for one of two suspects held following Mr Young’s murder after he fled from hospital.

Now police have confirmed that two men have been charged following a lengthy investigation.

Ronald Kissaka, 34, of Croydon has been charged with murder.

Dwaine Harris, 39, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder, escaping lawful custody and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Both men will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

“Reece’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
