The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was involved in an altercation with two unknown men. Police say one of the two men attacked him by hitting him over the head with a pint glass before running off.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

PC Oliver Barlow, leading the investigation, said: “This was a brutal attack that left the victim with a serious injury that required stitches and months of healing.

“We are doing everything we can to find those responsible and have carried out a number of enquiries since the night of the attack, including speaking with witnesses and looking at CCTV.

“If you were at the Crown and Shuttle pub on the evening of this attack, please look closely at this footage and let us know if you remember seeing either of these men on that night. Similarly, if you recognise them or have any information about the incident, please come forward.

“This may just be the information we need to progress our investigation."
