Sabita Thanwani death: Boyfriend arrested on suspicion of murder after student found dead in Clerkenwell

Detectives have arrested Maher Maaroufe, who was wanted in connection with the death of 19-year-old student Sabita Thanwani in Clerkenwell.
The 22-year-old, of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assault.

Hide AdPolice were called at 5.10am on Saturday on to reports of a woman injured Arbour House, in Sebastian Street, Clerkenwell.
Over the weekend, the Met named the victim as Ms Thanwani, a British national, who was living at the address where she was found dead.
On Sunday, officers arrested Maaroufe, who had been in a relationship with Ms Thanwani.
Det Ch Insp Linda Bradley, from the Met, said: “I would like to thank everyone for publicising and sharing our appeal to trace Maaroufe.
