Chadwell Heath stabbing: Victim named Tyler Hurley, 16, as man charged with murder

Carlton Tanueh, 18, of no fixed address, was charged with murder and two counts of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

The 16-year-old boy stabbed to death on a bus in Chadwell Heath has been named as Tyler Hurley, and a man has been charged with murder.

Carlton Tanueh, 18, of no fixed address, was also charged with two counts of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

Officers initially arrested Tanueh on suspicion of attempted murder.

While Tanueh was in custody in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Tyler sadly died in hospital.

On Wednesday morning, detectives charged Tanueh with murder, and he appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Police still await formal identification, however Tyler’s family have been informed of his death and the Met released his name.

The investigation is being led by Murder Squad, who are still appealing for witnesses.
